Many companies help you go abroad to visit or to work.  Here at Culture Gateway, we do more.  We are a community of people who ask ourselves a few simple questions that produce great results: How can we get more out of our experiences abroad?  How can we share these experiences with others?  Some companies out there help you gain a foothold in foreign countries.  However, once you’ve packed your bags and flown halfway across the world, many of these companies are nowhere to be found.

Culture Gateway is here, with you, every step of the way.  We’re more than a voice on the phone.  We are your neighbors, at home here in a community on the far side of the world.  Whether you are coming here as a teacher or a visitor, we take care of you.  For us, that means more than putting a roof over your head and food on the table.  It means taking you around China, telling you about the corner store with the best noodles, showing you how to cross the city for less than a dollar, and introducing you to your new friends.  We invite you to join our community.

Today, Culture Gateway is a organization based in Beijing which provides assistance to Westerners in three programs.  Our first is a full-support program to bring native English speakers to China to teach.  This program provides jobs, airfare, training, housing, and free trips around China.  Our participants Explore the country, Engage the culture, and Discover a new life.  Click here to find out more information and Teach in China.

Culture Gateway is also happy to provide a Guide to China, which everyone can use.  This guide provides ratings on exciting destinations and restaurants.  We include considerations like “Western-Friendliness” so you know exactly how easy it is to get by, based upon on your proficiency with the Chinese language.  Our Survival Guide section explains the Do’s and Don’ts of living in China, as well as directions on how to buy insurance, process a visa, exchange currency, register with the housing department, and take care of the other day-to-day needs of a foreigner in China.
