Our Mission:
Culture Gateway, a division of ALTIC (Advanced Learning and Teaching in China) is a unique cultural exchange program that brings China to deserving college graduates who might not otherwise have the opportunity to work abroad and experience China. Our program targets motivated individuals with interest in teaching English while learning functional Chinese. Within the classroom and Beijing at large, our foremost goal is to create a dialogue between China and Western cultures. We intend to make your time with our program one of the best experiences in your life.
History:
Culture Gateway is the teaching division of ALTIC, Advanced Learning and Teaching in China. Culture Gateway was founded approximately a year ago by former Chinese students and teachers as a way to bring Chinese and Western cultures together. The first session of Culture Gateway brought 12 teachers from the United States and Canada to China, who have now enjoyed living and working in China for two semesters. Our second session added to our numbers and has helped to cement our reputation among top educators in Beijing. In the upcoming months, new groups will continue Culture Gateway’s reputation of excellence and help us open more doors of cultural exchange. Soon, we will open a Western-operated school of native English teachers, with the potential of expanding to other beautiful cities throughout China in the Fall of 2009.
